About Us

So Who Are We?

The Adventurers

The Adventurers – Isabel and Adrian

Isabel was born and grew up in South Africa as the oldest of four girls. Her first experience of motorcycles was at the age of 17 when she had a go on a friend’s scooter and promptly fell off. It wasn’t until more than 10 years later that she got back on a bike and loved it. Since then she has ridden a Honda CBR 600, a Honda Fireblade and currently rides a Honda Transalp XL650. We think she probably likes Hondas then. On our trips
she will be in charge of financial matters, filming and dealing with border and customs.

Adrian, the ‘fatman’ of the title, was born in London and grew up in Wembley. He is a bored 50 year old child who was born with a mid-life crisis. He says that he could put his cuddly stature down to genetics! He first rode a motorcycle whilst living and working in South Africa (where he met the wonderful Isabel) and has had a few bikes since then. He currently rides a BMW F800GS and has no fashion sense. He is also a keen photographer. On our tours he will be in charge of navigation (which means we will be permanently lost),  cooking (permanently poisoned) and helmet karaoke (permanent hearing loss).

Mr. Teddy At Rest

No-one knows where Mr Teddy hails from. He just turned up one day and stayed. He is married to the long-suffering Mrs Teddy who graciously allows him to follow us on our adventures while she holds the fort at home. He has never felt the need to learn to ride a motorcycle because that
is what his human servants (that is Isabel and Adrian) are for. No matter what anyone else thinks, he knows that he is in charge of this adventure!

So Why Are We Doing This?

Because we can? Because it’s there? This is not an easy question to answer. With Adrian’s
kids having flown the nest and his jobs not working out we were both getting restless.
Adrian thought it would be a good idea to go to Morocco and Senegal on the bikes for a
few weeks. When Isabel looked on the map the idea to not turn round but continue on to
South Africa was born.
This is a big step and it was decided to go to Europe first to see if we liked this
travelling lark. We loved it! Apart from a too small tent (something we have now rectified).
